Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
