The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man, 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
