Ah! would that there had been between me and thee, the distance of the east and the west an evil companion 38 When ye have done wrong, it will avail you nothing, that Day, that ye shall be partners in Punishment! 39 What! can you then make the deaf to hear or guide the blind and him who is in clear error? 40 So if We take you away, We shall then indeed take revenge from them. 41 Or (if) We show you that wherewith We threaten them, then verily, We have perfect command over them. 42 Therefore hold fast to what We have divinely revealed to you; indeed you are upon the Straight Path. (The Holy Prophets can never go astray). 43 And verily it is an admonition unto thee and thy people; and presently ye will be questioned. 44 Ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We have ever made gods, other than the Merciful, to be worshipped. 45
