WITH ALL THIS, man [often] says, "What! Once I am dead, shall I again be brought forth alive?" 66 But does not man call to mind that We created him before out of nothing? 67 By your Lord, We shall most surely gather them and the devils too; and bring them close to hell on their knees. 68 Then We shall carry off from every group those who were most stubborn in their opposition to the Gracious One, 69 We know best who deserve to be burnt in (the Fire). 70 Not one of you but will pass over it: this is, with thy Lord, a Decree which must be accomplished. 71 Then We shall deliver those that were godfearing; and the evildoers We shall leave there, hobbling on their knees. 72 And when Our clear verses are recited to them, the disbelievers say to the Muslims, “Which group has a better home, and a better alliance?” 73 How numerous are the peoples We destroyed before them - those that were more resourceful and grander in outward appearance! 74 Say, "The Gracious One grants respite for a time to those who are in error until, when they are confronted with what they are promised, either in punishment [in the world] or in [the approach of] the Hour, they will realize who is worse in respect of position and who is weaker in resources." 75 Allah increaseth in right guidance those who walk aright, and the good deeds which endure are better in thy Lord's sight for reward, and better for resort. 76 Have you seen him who denies the truth in Our revelations and says, "I shall certainly be given wealth and children." 77 Has he looked into the unseen, or has he taken from the Most Merciful a promise? 78 No, indeed! We shall assuredly write down all that he says, and We shall prolong for him the chastisement; 79 and divest him of all that he is [now] speaking of: for [on Judgment Day] he will appear before Us in a lonely state. 80 And they have chosen (other) gods beside Allah that they may be a power for them. 81 In fact, they can have no honor; their gods will renounce their worship of idols and will turn against them. 82
