Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 We have indeed sent it as a Qur’an in the Arabic language, so that you may understand. 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 So shall We divert the advice away from you, because you are a nation that exceeds the limits? 5 And how many a prophet We sent among the ancients. 6 No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock. 7 And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded. 8 And if thou askest them: who hath created the heavens and the earth? they will surely say: created them the Mighty, the Knower. 9 Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way, 10 And He it is who sends down, again and again, waters from the sky in due measure: and [as] We raise therewith dead land to life, even thus will you be brought forth [from the dead]. 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
