We created man -- We know the promptings of his soul, and are closer to him than his jugular vein -- 16 When the two receivers receive, sitting on the right and on the left. 17 not even a word can he utter but there is a watcher with him, ever-present. 18 And the hardship of death came with the truth; “This is what you were escaping from!” 19 And the trumpet will be blown: this is the Day of the Threatening. 20 Each soul will come with a driver and a witness. 21 (And unto the evil-doer it is said): Thou wast in heedlessness of this. Now We have removed from thee thy covering, and piercing is thy sight this day. 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 “The one who excessively prevented from virtue, the transgressor, the doubtful.” 25 "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty." 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 God will say, "Do not quarrel in My presence. I gave you the warning beforehand 28 “With Me, the decree does not change, and nor do I oppress the bondmen.” 29
