The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 And extended shade, 30 and flowing water, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 full of love, well-matched 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38
