A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 [This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. 2 [O men!] Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and follow no masters other than Him. Little are you admonished. 3 How many towns have We destroyed (for their sins)? Our punishment took them on a sudden by night or while they slept for their afternoon rest. 4 No plea had they, when Our terror came unto them, save that they said: Lo! We were wrong-doers. 5 Thus, [on Judgment Day] We shall most certainly call to account all those unto whom a [divine] message was sent, and We shall most certainly call to account the message-bearers [themselves]; 6 Then surely We will recount unto them with knowledge, and We have not been absent. 7 On that Day, the weighing is true. He whose scales are heavy those are the prosperers, 8 And those whose scales are light are the people who put themselves to ruin – the recompense of the injustice they used to do to Our signs. 9 We established you in the earth and made for you a livelihood but little is it that you give thanks. 10
