And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 (We answered his prayer, healed his sickness, and told him), "Run on your feet. This is cool water (for you) to wash and drink". 42 We gave him back his family and doubled their number as a blessing from Us and as a reminder to the people of understanding. 43 [And finally We told him:] "Now take in thy hand a small bunch of grass, and strike therewith, and thou wilt not break thine oath!" for, verily, We found him full of patience in adversity: how excellent a servant [of Ours,] who, behold, would always turn unto Us! 44 And remember Our servants Ibrahim and Ishaq and Yaqoub, men of power and insight. 45 We gave them this pure distinction because of their continual remembrance of the Day of Judgment. 46 Lo! in Our sight they are verily of the elect, the excellent. 47 And make mention of Ishmael and Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. All are of the chosen. 48 This is a Message (of admonition): and verily, for the righteous, is a beautiful Place of (Final) Return,- 49 The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them. 50 in which they will recline, and call for abundant fruit and drink therein. 51 ۞ And with them will be virgins of refraining looks and of equal age. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 All this; but for the insolent awaits an ill resort, 55 Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place. 56 This is so! Then let them taste it, a boiling fluid and dirty wound discharges. 57 And other (torment) of the kind in pairs (the two extremes)! 58 Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 They say, 'No, it is you have no Welcome; you forwarded it for us; how evil a stablishment!' 60 They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire." 61 And they will add: "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we were wont to count among the wicked, 62 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' 63 Verily, that is the very truth, the mutual dispute of the people of the Fire! 64
