The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 Recompense fitted! 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
