The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
