Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 His wealth and what he earns will not avail him. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 [who bears] around her neck a rope of twisted strands! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
