The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: 80 And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 and say, 'Surely, I am the manifest warner.' 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 about what they did. 93 Therefore proclaim openly (Allah's Message Islamic Monotheism) that which you are commanded, and turn away from Al-Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, and disbelievers, etc. - see V. 2:105). 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
