Q (Qaaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
QAF. I CALL to witness the glorious Qur'an. 1 Nay; they wondered that a warner should have come to them from among themselves. The unbelievers said: “This indeed is a strange thing. 2 What! when we are dead and have become dust? That is afar (from probable) return. 3 We know all what the earth decreases from them; and with Us is a Book that retains. 4 Nay, but they [who refuse to believe in resurrection] have been wont to give the lie to this truth whenever it was proffered to them; and so they are in a state of confusion. 5 Have they not looked up to the heaven above them, in what wise We have constructed and bedecked it, and that therein is no rift? 6 and We have spread out the earth, and have set upon it firm mountains, and have caused it to bring out plants of all beauteous kinds? 7 As instruction and reminder to every penitent creature. 8 And We send down from the cloud water abounding in good, then We cause to grow thereby gardens and the grain that is reaped, 9 And the tall palm-trees having spadices closely set one above another, 10 As a provision for men, and enlivened a region that was dead. Even thus will be the life after death. 11 The people of Noah, Ar-Rass and Thamud denied before you, 12 And the tribe of A’ad, and Firaun, and the fellowmen of Lut. 13 The Companions of the Wood, and the People of Tubba'; each one (of them) rejected the messengers, and My warning was duly fulfilled (in them). 14 Were We then tired with the first creation? Nay, They are in confused doubt about a new creation (i.e. Resurrection)? 15
