Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
