Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 you do so the while there are watchers over you; 10 noble scribes 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 to burn therein. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
