Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
