The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 They do not expect any reward 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
