And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
