Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
