Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a known term? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
