Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and well spread carpets. 16 So do they not see the camel how it has been created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
Almighty God's Truth.
