When your Lord called out to Moses, saying, "Go to the wrongdoing people, 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers. 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 Said Firaun to those around him, “Are you not listening with attention?” 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 (Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!" 27 Moses continued, "He is the Lord of the East and West and all that is between them, if only you would think". 28 [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Bring it forth then, if you are of the truthful!" 31 So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
