We also favoured Moses and Aaron, 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 And We helped them, so they overcame (their troubles); 116 And We vouchsafed unto the twain a Book luminous. 117 and guided them to the straight path; 118 And We left for the twain among the posterity: 119 "Peace upon Moses and Aaron." 120 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 121 Lo! they are two of Our believing slaves. 122 Surely, Elias too was among the Messengers. 123 He said to his people, "Have you no fear [of God?] 124 Will you invoke Baal and forsake [God,] the best of artisans 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 128 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 129 Peace be with the followers of Elias. 130 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 131 surely he was one of Our believing servants. 132 So also was Lut among those sent (by Us). 133 when We delivered him and his people all together, 134 except an old woman who lingered, 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine].
