The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 will be easy, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
