Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
