Q (Qaaf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Qaf. CONSIDER this sublime Qur'an! 1 Nay; they wondered that a warner should have come to them from among themselves. The unbelievers said: “This indeed is a strange thing. 2 When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be brought back again)? That would be a far return! 3 We know what the earth consumes of them, for We have the Book that preserves everything. 4 In fact they denied the Truth when it came to them, so they are now in a dilemma. 5 Do they not then look up to heaven above them how We have made it and adorned it and it has no gaps? 6 (Have they not seen) how We have spread out the earth, placed on it firm mountains and have made all kinds of flourishing pairs of plants grow? 7 An insight and a Reminder for every slave turning to Allah (i.e. the one who believes in Allah and performs deeds of His obedience, and always begs His pardon). 8 And We send down from the sky blessed water whereby We give growth unto gardens and the grain of crops, 9 and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered spathes; 10 A sustenance for the servants, and We give life thereby to a dead land; thus is the rising. 11 The people of Noah denied before them, and the companions of the well and Thamud 12 and so did 'Ad, and Pharaoh and Lot's brethren, 13 and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan,] and the people of Tubba: they all gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon that whereof I had warned [them] came true. 14 Were We then worn out by the first creation? Yet they are in doubt about a second creation. 15
