The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed be He who has sent down the Salvation upon His servant, that he may be a warner to all beings; 1 He unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, He hath chosen no son nor hath He any partner in the Sovereignty. He hath created everything and hath meted out for it a measure. 2 And people have appointed other Gods besides Him, those who do not create anything but are themselves created, and those who do not have the power to harm or benefit themselves, and who do not have any authority over death or life nor over resurrection. 3 And those who disbelieve say: This is nothing but a lie which he has forged, and other people have helped him at it; so indeed they have done injustice and (uttered) a falsehood. 4 And they say: The stories of the ancients-- he has got them written-- so these are read out to him morning and evening. 5 Say: "It (this Quran) has been sent down by Him (Allah) (the Real Lord of the heavens and earth) Who knows the secret of the heavens and the earth. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." 6 They say, "Why does this Messenger eat food, and walk in the streets? Why has not an angel been sent to him so that they could preach the message together? 7 Or a treasure should have been given to him, or he should have had an orchard from which he could eat." And these wicked people say: "You only follow a man ensorcelled." 8 Observe what kind of things they attribute to you. They have surely gone astray and cannot find the right way again. 9
