The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 And by the Day promised, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 when they were seated around it 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 Verily those who believed and worked righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens whereunder the rivers flow; that is the supreme achievement. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Behold, it is He who creates [man] in the first instance, and He [it is who] will bring him forth anew. 13 And He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Beloved of His bondmen. 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
