The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
