O believers, obey God and His Messenger, and do not turn away from Him, even as you are listening; 20 And do not be like those who said, “We have heard”, whereas they do not hear. 21 ۞ Surely the worst of beasts in God's sight are those that are deaf and dumb and do not understand. 22 Had Allah known of any good in them, He would indeed have made them listen, and even if He had made them listen, they would but have turned away, averse (to the truth). 23 O believers, respond to God and the Messenger when He calls you unto that which will give you life; and know that God stands between a man and his heart, and that to Him you shall be mustered. 24 And fear an affliction which may not smite those of you in particular who are unjust; and know that Allah is severe in requiting (evil). 25 Call to mind when ye were a small (band), despised through the land, and afraid that men might despoil and kidnap you; But He provided a safe asylum for you, strengthened you with His aid, and gave you Good things for sustenance: that ye might be grateful. 26 O People who Believe! Do not betray Allah and His Noble Messenger, nor purposely defraud your trusts. 27 Know that your wealth and children are a trial and that there is an immense reward with God. 28
