The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is covered, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 The rising dawn, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
God the Almighty always says the truth.
