What aileth those who disbelieve, that they keep staring toward thee (O Muhammad), open-eyed, 36 On the right hand and on the left, in sundry parties? 37 Does every one of them desire to enter the bountiful Paradise? 38 Certainly not! They know quite well out of what We created them. 39 But nay! I call to witness [Our being] the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise and sunset: verily, well able are We 40 To replace them by (others) better than them; and We are not to be outrun. 41 So leave them to plunge in vain talk and play about, until they meet their Day which they are promised. 42 The Day when they will come out of the graves quickly as racing to a goal, 43 with their eyes cast down and covered by disgrace; the day about which they were promised. 44
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej). Sent down in Mecca after Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah) before The News (Al-Naba')
