The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
