Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 His property and worldly gains will be of no help to him. 2 He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame 3 And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood. 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
