Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah forth to his people, saying, "Warn your people before there comes upon them a grievous punishment." 1 Noah said: “My people, I have certainly been sent as a clear warner to you, 2 (Bidding you): Serve Allah and keep your duty unto Him and obey me, 3 He will forgive your sins and will grant you respite till an appointed time. When the time appointed by God arrives, it cannot be postponed, if you only knew." 4 He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day, 5 but my call has only caused them to flee farther and farther away [from Thee]. 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 "So I have called to them aloud; 8 Then I conveyed the message to them, again, both in public and in private, 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 He will send you abundant 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 strengthen you by (providing) you wealth and children, and make gardens and streams for you. What is the matter with you that you are not afraid of the greatness of God 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 "'See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp? 16 God made you grow from the earth. 17 and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 That you may go along therein in wide paths. 20
