Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
