The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
