The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?” 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not cheat; 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 Fear He who created you, and the generations of the ancient' 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 191
