Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
