He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 when the blind came to him. 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 and fears (Allah), 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 Not this way this is the advice. 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 And We made corn grow, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And garden-closes of thick foliage 30 fruits, and grass. 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 but others will be gloomy 40 Blackness will cover them: 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
