(Remember) when Abraham, said to his father and his nation: 'I am quit from what you worship, 26 except the One Who created me; and, behold, it is He Who will direct me to the Right Way.” 27 And Abraham left behind this word to endure among his posterity so that they may return to it. 28 Nay, but I gave these and their fathers enjoyment of days, until the truth came unto them, and a manifest Messenger. 29 And when the truth came to them they said, “This is magic, and we disbelieve in it.” 30 And they say: Why was not this Quran revealed to a man of importance in the two towns? 31 Will they distribute the mercy of your Lord? We distribute among them their livelihood in the life of this world, and We j have exalted some of them above others in degrees, that some of them may take others in subjection; and the mercy of your Lord is better than what they amass. 32 If it were not that all mankind might have become one community [of disbelievers], We could have given all those who deny the Lord of Mercy, houses with roofs of silver, silver staircases to ascend, 33 with doors to their houses and couches on which to recline; 34 And diverse adornments; and all this is usage only of the life of this world; and the Hereafter with your Lord, is for the pious. 35
