The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 and the Book inscribed 2 on parchment for distribution, 3 The house ever-peopled, 4 Consider the vault [of heaven] raised high! 5 And the sea set aflame. 6 Verily the torment of thine Lord is sure to befalls 7 there is none to prevent it. 8 On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving, 9 And the mountains will fly hither and thither. 10 Woe, then, on that Day to those who give the lie (to this Message) 11 Who are playing in falsehood. 12 On that day they will be violently pushed into the fire 13 and they will be told, "This is the fire which you called a lie. 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 Now enter it. Whether you behave patiently or impatiently will make no difference: you are only being repaid for what you have done. 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with such fruit and meat as they desire. 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ And their boy servants shall go around them, as if they were pearls, safely hidden. 24 And some of them draw near to others, questioning. 25 saying, "We were afraid while in the world. 26 Wherefore Allah hath obliged us, and hath protected us from the torment of the Scorch. 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
