Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known extent. 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 as black camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
