The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
