Thamood, belied their Messengers. 141 When their brother Saleh said to them: "Will you not take heed?" 142 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you 143 So fear Allah and obey me. 144 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 145 "Do you think that you will remain here peacefully forever 146 “In gardens and water springs?” 147 "And corn-fields and date-palms with spathes near breaking (with the weight of fruit)? 148 And hew ye out houses in the mountains skilfully! 149 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 150 do not obey the bidding of those who are given to excesses, 151 who corrupt in the earth, and do not reform' 152 They said: "You are only of those bewitched! 153 You are nothing but a man like us. Bring us a token if you speak the truth." 154 He said: "Here is a she-camel: she has a right of watering, and ye have a right of watering, (severally) on a day appointed. 155 "Touch her not with harm, lest the Penalty of a Great Day seize you." 156 Yet they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful, 157 So the chastisement seized them. Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 158 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 159
