Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 By this luminous Book. 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 And not a prophet came unto them but him they were wont to mock. 7 so We destroyed men stronger in valour than they, and the example of the ancients passed away. 8 (Muhammad), if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will certainly say, "The Majestic and All-knowing God has created them". 9 It is He who has made the earth for you as a cradle and has made roads therein so that you will perhaps seek guidance. 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount. 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 It is to our Lord that we shall eventually return.” 14 Yet they make some of His creatures His offspring! Man is surely most ungrateful. 15
