Al-Naze'aat 2 of 2
What, are you stronger in constitution or the heaven He built? 27 high above? 28 and darkened its night and brought forth its morning. 29 After this, He spread out the earth, 30 He extracted from it its water and its pasture, 31 And the mountains He has fixed firmly; 32 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 33 When the great calamity comes, 34 The day on which man shall recollect what he strove after, 35 and Hell will be brought in sight for anyone to see: 36 then as for whosoever was insolent 37 and preferred the life of this world, 38 most surely his abode shall be Hell. 39 But he who feared to stand before his Lord, and restrained himself from evil desires, 40 paradise will truly be the goal! 41 They ask you about the Hour: “When will it be?” 42 Why (ask they)? What hast thou to tell thereof? 43 Unto thy Lord belongeth (knowledge of) the term thereof. 44 You are only a warner for those who fear it. 45 On the Day when they behold it, [it will seem to them] as if they had tarried [in this world] no longer than one evening or [one night, ending with] its morn! 46

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
