The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 that hide, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
