Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
89 verses, revealed in Mecca after Consultation (Al-Shooraa) before Smoke (Al-Dukhaan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha Mim 1 I swear by the illustrious Book. 2 verily We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you may understand. 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Should We divert this Good Counsel from you because you are a people immersed in extravagance? 5 And how many a prophet did We send to people of olden times! 6 But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him. 7 We destroyed the strongest among them in power. The stories of the ancient people have already been mentioned. 8 (Muhammad), if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will certainly say, "The Majestic and All-knowing God has created them". 9 He who made the earth a bed for you, and laid out tracks upon it so that you may find the way; 10 And Who sent down water from the sky with a proper measure, so We revived a dead city with it; this is how you will be taken out. 11 He Who created these pairs, all of them, and provided you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 That ye may mount upon their backs, and may remember your Lord's favour when ye mount thereon, and may say: Glorified be He Who hath subdued these unto us, and we were not capable (of subduing them); 13 Surely we have to go back to our Lord." 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
